The Monroe Building

Built in 1912 and designed by Holabird and Roche, the Monroe Building (center) is a beautiful example of early skyscraper design. Here is a picture of it today (or nearly so):


The best part? I spend all day in it, every day of the week, working, looking across at the Bean and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Life is grand.
